Of all the social apps I’ve tried recently, Retro is the one I find most interesting. It has a low barrier to posting and encourages a small following. It limits how much followers can see unless you share a key with them and nudges you to participate instead of just lurking.

It’s not flashy, but it’s beautiful, and I enjoy the close-friends vibe: you get to see everyday life, kids and all. It feels like a private photo journal: focused, delightful, no hashtags or filters.
